This eleven hour course is a basic through intermediate course that qualifies you to apply for your California "Carry Concealed Weapons" License in Shasta County and other California cities and counties that have approved this course. (The license is valid throughout California.) This is also a good course for developing your fundamental shooting skills to protect yourself and your home, whether or not you plan to obtain a license. We will cover firearms safety, state firearms law, the proper mindset for defending yourself, the levels of awareness, cover or concealment, and strategies to use during a violent encounter. You will be shooting at a range for several hours while simulating violent encounters. The course includes range practice during low light and night conditions, as well as responding to multiple armed assailants. This is the most comprehensive CCW preparation course available to private citizens in northern California. PERSONAL PROTECTION (CCW RENEWAL) $60 Designed to meet the needs of Shasta County and California residents who are renewing their concealed carry (CCW) licenses, this four hour course begins with a review of firearms safety and state firearms law. Moving to the range, you will perform tactical low light shooting drills while practicing speed loading as well as moving and shooting. As time allows, we will include additional drills, such as clearing malfunctions, confrontations while in automobiles, or searching buildings. This is the most comprehensive four hour CCW renewal course available to private citizens in northern California. Now you have the opportunity to conveniently practice your low light and night shooting! North state ranges do not allow the public to practice tactical night shooting, for a variety of reasons. Scheduled at least once a month on a Friday, you can practice shooting at dusk and then during the night. During this four hour course, you will practice identifying threats and shooting at multiple targets. You can enhance utilization of your flashlight and/or your laser sight. As always, only four students per class maximum, and as always, you will receive personal instruction and attention from the instructor. Cover and concealment, shooting and moving, and room entries are some of the other skills you can focus on. Offered through most of the year, this course can be taken whenever you feel the need to practice at night. Successful completion of any BullsEye handgun course or a demonstrated equivalent level of shooting experience and knowledge is a prerequisite to register for this course.
During the advanced courses, you can develop your handgun skills to the level of a police SWAT team member! This two day, sixteen hour course includes practice sessions at the tactical range that help you develop close contact shooting techniques, efficient use of cover or concealment, shooting at multiple targets, clearing malfunctions, moving and shooting, low light level shooting, responding from a vehicle and engaging threats, and more. There will be minimal classroom time and maximum range time. The course is designed to fine tune your handgun handling and improve your accuracy and speed.
