INSTRUCTORS
The founding instructor, Chris Ewens, was trained and certified by the State of California during 1986 as a state SWAT team member, as a state SWAT team sniper, and to instruct state peace officers in the use of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and tear gas. During 1988, Chris received additional state certification in the use of state SWAT team machine guns. He was the primary tactical instructor for his SWAT team from 1986 to 1990. For the past 25 years, Chris has instructed thousands of students in the use of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and machine guns. Over the ensuing years, Chris has augmented his law enforcement training by completing an average of two courses a year at nationally recognized training facilities. He is certified by the FBI, California Peace Officers Standards and Training, California Department of Justice, California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and the National Rifle Association to instruct handgun, rifle, shotgun, and personal protection courses. Chris earned his Kung Fu San Soo black belt in 2005, adding his first degree black belt in 2006, his second degree in 2007, and his third degree in 2008. He utilizes these martial arts skills when he instructs disarming techniques that are included in BullsEye advanced courses. BullsEye advanced handgun courses include retention and defense instruction that is based on martial arts techniques taught by Kung Fu San Soo masters. This martial art is very effective and is designed to be used in street fighting, not sport tournaments or matches. The instruction helps prepare BullsEye students for situations when they are confronted by armed assailants, and have not been able to respond with their personal defense firearms. The goal of BullsEye is to provide you with a comfortable learning environment that encourages progress as you learn the capabilities of your firearm. The old saying, "time flies when you're having fun", applies to BullsEye courses. You should enjoy developing your tactical shooting skills, and the learning environment at BullsEye encourages this. |
